Trucking Industry and Jobs Looking Strong

This report just came out today.  Hopefully, this trend continues in 2011.

The trucking industry represents a very important component of the US economy. According to the US Bureau of Economic Analysis, the trucking industry accounts for about 5% of the Gross Domestic Product each year. The trucking industry was hit exceptionally hard during the economic crisis with nearly 2000 companies going out of business and others reducing the size of their fleets. Amazon.com Could Help Local Trucking Companies

Here's a bit of positive news regarding trucking jobs:

Local trucking companies are excited about the possibility of Amazon.com coming to Chattanooga. Hopefully, this also means that all the stuff I order from there might get to me a little faster.  However, if Amazon.com doesn't work out, you can always look for trucking jobs in Tennessee or local trucking companies with Pavement Pounders. :)

The latest offering from Cobra Electronics – the 7750 Platinum – includes a 7-inch screen, 3D maps and 33,000 points of interest targeted at truck drivers and according to Cobra the industry’s best last-mile routing.
